    • Genetics: Psilocybe azurescens
    • High difficulty cultivation, requires experience

The Mondo Psilocybe azurescens Outdoor Growing Kit is designed for those seeking a long-term mycological project. Unlike indoor kits, this outdoor garden can be established in the garden or in a humid and shaded space, producing mushroom harvests year after year.

Psilocybe azurescens is known as one of the most potent psychedelic mushrooms, with levels of psilocybin, psilocin, and baeocystin up to six times higher than those of common Psilocybe cubensis. Its cultivation is not immediate: it requires time, dedication, and patience, as the first fruiting bodies can take from six months to a year to appear. However, the reward is a garden that fruits naturally every autumn.

This is a variety specially adapted to temperate and humid climates. During colonization, the mycelium develops better at temperatures of 16 to 24 °C, while fruiting is stimulated by the arrival of cold, around 7 °C. This kit is designed for advanced amateur mycologists and experienced psychonauts seeking long-term personal cultivation, assuming that success is never completely guaranteed, as external factors such as climate, humidity, or possible contamination with other fungi intervene.

⚠️ This outdoor cultivation kit for Psilocybe azurescens mushrooms is intended exclusively for mycological, ornamental, or educational purposes. It is not suitable for human consumption.

    Psilocybe azurescens step-by-step growing guide

    1. Prepare the wood chips

    • Place 1 liter of wood chips in a plastic container with a lid.
    • Add boiling water until completely covered.
    • Cover the container and let it rest overnight.
    • The next morning, drain the excess water well. The chips should remain moist, not waterlogged.
Tip: use hardwood chips (such as beech or oak) for better results.

    2. Inoculate with mycelium

    • Open the Psilocybe azurescens cake included in the kit.
    • Crumble it with a fork or clean utensil and mix it with the hydrated chips.
    • Distribute the mycelium evenly to promote complete colonization.
    • Place a sheet of moistened cardboard over the chips.
    • Cover the container leaving a small opening for ventilation.

    3. Colonize the substrate

    • Place the container in a clean and protected location, with stable temperature between 16 and 24 °C.
    • Maintain these conditions for 4–6 weeks.
    • Observe the mycelium's progress: the substrate should be completely covered by a white and uniform layer.
    • Do not proceed to the next step until colonization is complete.

    4. Prepare more chips and transplant outdoors

    • Repeat the hydration process with new wood chips.
    • Mix these fresh chips with the colonized ones, ensuring they are well integrated.
    • Fill a cardboard box with the resulting mixture.
    • Bury the open box in a shaded and humid area of the garden or land, always protected from direct sunlight.

    5. Promote fruiting

    • Optional: add a 1 cm layer of moist soil over the buried cardboard to maintain humidity.
    • Let the mycelium expand underground during the following months.
    • With the arrival of autumn and temperatures around 7 °C, the mycelium should begin fruiting.
    • If conditions remain adequate, the garden can yield harvests every year for several seasons.
    • Variety: Psilocybe azurescens
    • Type: Outdoor growing kit (live mycelium)
    • Production: Recurring, with annual harvests once established
    • Difficulty: Medium-high, requires patience and experience
    • Optimal conditions: Colonization 16–24 °C / Fruiting ~7 °C
    • Estimated initial fruiting time: 6–12 months
